And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars, see that you
are not troubled, for all these things must come to pass
but the end is not yet.
For nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against
kingdom.
Matthew 24:6-7A
This prophecy was put forth by Jesus, but it was
also given to Daniel in Daniel chapter 9.
Angel Gabriel was sent forth to Daniel to minister
and reveal future events to Daniel. He predicted
the death of Jesus and the destruction of the city
and the temple, as Jesus also predicted.
He also said war would continue to the very end.
The biggest war of all will be the battle of
Armageddon, but this will happen during the tribulation
when peace (the Holy Spirit) is removed from the
earth and all nations gather against Jerusalem for
the final battle.
A interesting statistic is that in human recorded
history there are 4,535 wars recorded. And
so far up till 1999, 600 million men have been killed
in these conflicts. Half of this amount,
300 million casualties have occurred in the 20th
century. In other words, there have been as
many people killed in war since 1914 as in the entire
5,500 years previous.
Along with the population explosion of the past century
came a correspondingly great growth in the number of people
who lost their lives as the result of armed conflicts.
The bible predicts an increase in wars. Conflicts
around the world have doubled since 1989 since
communism collapsed. In 1995 there were 71 wars in
the world.
Wars will increase not only in amounts of wars,
but intensity. The U. S. intelligence service sources
says that as many as 24 Third world nations will have
long range ballistic missiles. Half of those will have
nuclear capability. There are also forty countries
that have cruise type missles capable of hitting
U.S. cities if fired from a ship or submarine.
So more than ever before the danger of a nuclear
attack are possible. The Bible however
does not predict great destruction until
the tribulation when a great part of the world will be
destroyed through fire, plagues, huge earthquakes,
even a asteroid.
I really want to emphasize that the Bible is
full of prophecies, it is not possible for me to
talk to you about all of them, it would take a year.
But we are going to cover for now, the ones
leading up to the tribulation.
I also want to instill in your spirit a sense of peace,
knowing that everything that is taking place
was predicted before, and is part of God's plan.
He has promised protection to those who seek Him
and live Holy Lives. We need to pray fervently,
constantly and with great burden for our families,
country, government. We must be prayer warriors.
Warriors do not fear, they go to battle.
We are going to battle for the Lord.
So rebuke that fear, get into the word, find
comfort and peace from the Holy Spirit, and
let us get to praying!
No matter what we hear and see, know
that God is on the throne. No man
can overthrow God's plans nor God's throne.
He will win, and we know the end of the story.
We are going to see the King!
Hallelujah!
remember
Only one life
will soon be past
Only what is done
For Christ will last
