Bible Prohecy - Earthquakes

copyright Millie Plastaras 10/15/2001

Matthew24:7b

There will be earthquakes in various places.

It is predicted by the prophet Zechariah that when Jesus returns
there will be a massive earthquake that splits the mount of Olives
in half. Isaiah said that the earth will shake from it's place at that time.
Joel said the earth and even the sky will tremble.
Revelation says there will be an earthquake unlike any that
has ever occurred since man was on earth.

It is interesting when we look at statistics about earthquakes.
Between 1900 and 1910 there was only one earthquake
over 7.2 on the Richter scale. Between 1950 and 1960 there were 9.
from 1990 to 1995 there were 125 earthquakes over 7.2.
In the 17th century there were 378 recorded earthquakes.
In the eighteenth there were 640 and in the 19th century
there were 2,119.
Earthquakes are not only increasing in amounts but in
intensity.

Combined with the previous predictions about false christs,
wars, famines, pestilence and now earthquakes, and
the increasing amounts of each and the intensity it
is a testament in itself to tell us the Tribulation is near.
We need to be prepared for eternity.
WE see prophecy being fulfilled before our very eyes!

I live in California and we are always waiting for the next one to happen.
When my sister lived out here, she was in the one in Palm Springs,
that had a cluster of huge earthquakes that lifted the ground several feet apart in quite a few places. They had so many aftershocks that they could not stay in your house, so they lived in their car.

Just as the many things we are seeing on television now seem
so frightening, we must realize this is part of the plan,
and find joy in the fact that we are going to see Jesus soon.
My question to you, is are you ready?

Why should we as Americans wait for disasters to happen
before we seek God?
There will come a time, when Jesus will come and get His own,
and those left behind will have to go through the tribulation.
It will have more horrors than any other time during the earth's
history. And if you seek and find God during this tribulation
time, you will pay for it with your very life.

My friends, as we read these prophecies, let us never receive
a spirit of fear. But let us seek God more fervently,
and renew our relationship, indeed seek revival within our
selves and our church. Let us use the time we have
to reach others for Jesus Christ.

Do not be afraid, Look UP, for your redemption draweth nigh!

remember
Only one life
will soon be past
Only what is done
For Christ will last
